Rockridge Baptist Assembly, founded in 1956, was the simple dream of several persons who saw the potential for the Baptists of West Georgia to have a place to retreat from the pressures of the world. A place where God’s still small voice might stir the hearts and minds- the very soul- of children, youth and adults alike. Today Rockridge stands as a testimony to faith, perseverance and hard work of those who dreamed the dream of “A place where Souls Have a Chance to Grow.”

Rockridge Baptist Assembly is a not-for-profit organization with a purpose of providing Christian camping experiences for children & youth and retreat facilities for adults. Rockridge seeks to serve the needs of its West Georgia home region and then the larger region and state.

Rockridge Baptist Assembly depends on financial support from the associations that own it, the churches it serves, friends of the assembly and foundations. Gifts given in honor or memory of a family member or friend are welcomed and will be acknowledged promptly.

Management

Rockridge Baptist Assembly is owned and operated by three Associations of Baptist churches: Carrollton, Troup (LaGrange), and Western (Newnan). The Policies and management of the assembly are under the supervision of Board of Trustees Representing these associations.

An assembly manager or director is employed to carry out policies established by the Board of Trustees and is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the assembly. Any use of Rockridge Baptist Assembly facilities must be approved by the assembly manager or director.

Rockridge is available for use by churches, and other groups, whose purposes and activities do not conflict with the Christian principles that guide the assembly and policies as established by the Board of Trustees.

Facilities

Rockridge Baptist Assembly is located on 163 acres of forest and includes a beautiful private lake. This lake is stocked with Bream, Bass, Carpi, and other fish and is available for use by all overnight guests. Day use is available on a limited basis by permission only. A Camp fire area is just off the edge of this lake and is available for group use. We even provide the firewood!

Several hiking trails and on clearly marked “main trail” cover approximately 1 mile. The main trail crosses several creeks and meanders through fern-filled bottoms eventually climbing the assembly’s namesake ridge-this is Rockridge. Once on the ridge, guests are at the highpoint of Heard County and the view is, well, spectacular; especially at sunset.
In addition to fishing and hiking, recreation facilities include a swimming pool (in season), a covered gymnasium, and a large recreation field.
